Genoa and its Unique Architecture

Walking around the historic centre of Genoa we view several different architectural styles such as ancient or modern bas relieves, exquisitely carved portals, devotional altars, plus plastered and painted facades. Marble, slate, promontory stone, glass, wrought iron, steel and cement; all different materials overlap and live together through the last centuries. Probably the contradictory charm of the ancient and the modern is what makes Genoa so fascinating and unique.
